It’s called Napoletano, Chez Toni, an Italian restaurant located 18 Avenue Franklin Roosevelt. I’ve been here in 2012 and now back after six long years. I still remember to be unique, the risotto and that tiramisu I couldn’t try. I arrived at 9 in the evening to a packed restaurant packed by an accustomed clientele. Casual and sans-façon, the manager or probably the owner walks around greeting guests and making sure everyone is happy.

Leather benches, wooden chairs, marble tables, blue painted walls and the bar hosting the pizza oven. You can see on the walls photos from around Italy and the world.

On the menu: hot starters, cold starters, salads, pizzas, pasta, fresh pasta and risotto, meat, fish, cheeses and desserts.

The real Italian deal, a thirty-centimeter pizza loaded with cheese and tomato sauce surrounded by a thick and fluffy border. No garlic in the sauce, a rich and generous quantity of cheese with slices of salami. It has a spicy background that stays in the mouth.

My wife had the fresh artichoke salad and loved it as well; pieces of artichoke marinated in lemon and olive oil and covered with Parmesan cheese. Fried calamari followed, a big plate filled with big-sized rings served with the homemade mayonnaise.

What I love about this restaurant is its casual ambiance; a funny waiter who asks you to help with the service, plates that are loaded but not looking too good and positive vibes — carbonara with cream cooked aldente, black truffle linguini, tomato sauce spaghetti, and eggplant penne. We all enjoyed our plates and finished them all. Wow... the Pomodoro is the best of all! Don't complicate things, go for the simplest.

I was not done yet, a truffle pizza followed. As good as all the other plates, the black truffle pizza, its truffles and load of cheese were memorable.

Last time, I didn't have the chance to try their Tiramisu: When you try this tiramisu... you will understand what is a "Tiramisu". An exceptional dessert, I'll come back for.
