This is my second time at People for lunch this month, that's how much I enjoyed the food and experience. During my last visit, I tried their daily lunch menu for $40 but this time would be about trying couple items of the menu for a different experience. People is an interesting restaurant that opens only for lunch. People is a place where waiters are trained, portions are reasonable, plates look good and taste is memorable.
On the menu is a selection of starters, main courses and desserts. 16 starters and salads, 13 main plates and 12 desserts. An international menu proposing a selection of pasta, sandwiches, burgers, fine salads and places from the sea.
A delicious lunch began with two starters:
- Thin layers of puff pastry topped with mozzarella cheese under a bed of red tomatoes and rocket leaves, all seasoned with sweet balsamic and drizzled with olive oil. It's a cake, a multi-layered cake, a journey of taste, colors and the textures, fun. It's more than simple food, it's about know how, finesse, love, taste... It's an amazing salad.
- Warm goat cheese on toasted pain de campagne, four of them surrounding a mountain of fresh greens, lettuce and rocket leaves decorated with dried fruits and walnuts.
Now for the main dish:
- Imagine a plate full of penne pasta, small slices of cheese, fresh crunchy mushrooms, melted cheese, cubes of bacon and rich creamy sauce. The comté is what makes all the difference, the cream with white wine leaves an interesting aftertaste, the fresh mushrooms are so good and the chewy bacon is the cherry on top. Now that I've enjoyed every ingredient alone, I picked one of each with my fork for the ultimate pleasure. It's so yummy! I might be coming back here just for this plate. Penne cooked al dente, enjoyably salty, well balanced... Your tongue will lick your lips instinctively. Two thumbs up chef.

What the hell! Is this real? A crunchy envelope filled with dark chocolate cream and served with chocolate sauce on the side and a bowl of whipped cream. An amazing cream, a superb crust, an outstanding chocolate sauce. I've had eclairs but this one is different; its fresh feel is what makes it a sensational experience.
