I’ve been enjoying so much the food at The Phoenicia that I booked myself for lunch! Exceptional Eggs Benedict, burrata salad, pizza margarita, Maltese club sandwich... so why not discover the real deal! Served at the hotel’s main restaurant, Saturday brunch opens at noon.
Start with a welcome drink: Prosecco or Bellini. Grab yourself a plate and roam around the buffet table where a handful of cold cuts and local items await. Salmon, ham, turkey, pork, and fish among others. A salad bar, fruit display, local bread, cereals, and cheeses. I fell in love with their rich produce.
Cured leg of ham, put two slices in the local bread, spread some mustard and enjoy. Do not miss the croissant sandwich; two of them, one with ham and one with salmon. This morning I tried one of the best Zaatar croissants out there and now repeating the experience was an obvious thing to do. Flaky, light, crispy, buttery and airy; excellent quality croissants await.
Other than the buffet, choose from several main plates:
- Mushroom on toast with poached egg and sauce hollandaise.
- Savory crepe with eggs and ham
- Confit duck leg
- Corned beef hash with a fried egg
- Baked eggs with parma ham
- Grilled beef sirloin with tomato
- Vanilla creme brulee
- Chocolate and pear brownie
- Apple frangipane
- Ice cream
Excellent food! The duck is phenomenal; the meat texture is outstanding... then came dessert! Oh My God! The chocolate cake made my heart skip a beat. The Apple frangipane is awesome. Bravo, bravo, bravo... chefs, you rock!
Great food in a pleasant ambiance; I will recommend lunch at The Phoenicia to all my friends.
