Pass the beautiful winter garden, open the door and be prepared to be amazed! Sophie’s is your escape to the village in the heart of London. Under a high ceiling, a space feeling like a hangar, industrial yet beautifully decorated with style. With a handful of tables and sofas set around a middle bar, I was ready to have a pleasant lunch experience.

Sophie’s, not part of my lists but spotted on google maps was a few meters from my location. I loved the photos and felt like it’s going to be fun! I’m so happy to have come here for the vibes, the decor and especially the open kitchen which hosts a gigantic and unique wood-fired grill I’ve never seen before. Sophie’s is much more than a restaurant, it’s an inspiration.

Walls made of used bricks, the floor covered with thick panels of used wood, greenery pending from the ceiling and a huge crystal chandelier acting as a centerpiece, the restaurant is simple yet classy and artistic. Dimmed lights with more coming from the glass ceiling, white marble tables, and red sofas. I took hundreds of photos and was not stopped but to the contrary invited to take more.

Take a walk, climb the stairs to the upper level where lore seating is available. There is where the kitchen hustle and bustle makes you want to help the guys finish their plates. Amazing vibes!

The menu is based on meats and chicken, a restaurant with medium to high prices unless you take the three-course menu created especially for lunch customers. For 18£, you get three plates. Mashed aubergine like a Lebanese “Baba Ghannouj” with salted bread chips crackers. Soup of the day with a side of grilled sourdough bread.

People were coming in with a smile. The table next to us, were enjoying their time two friends getting together after a long time. Three ladies at the back were working on their laptops. A kid by our side was studying and focusing on a project. A group from work we’re discussing their next project... and we were eating. I’m not sure why, but the service is way too slow!

Yummy chicken! Even though I ordered it without garlic sauce, the chicken served alone is juicy and cooked to perfection. A big piece of chicken, cut in half, white-colored chicken ready to amaze. I loved the crispy skin and how it smells wood fire. The steak frites are as good, excellent quality meat, well-textured, not too tender but firm and filled with flavors. Thick and crunchy fries, delicious béarnaise; the food was all good with great value for money. 18£ only for big portions of tasty food.

I loved the ice cream texture in this country or is it the same ice cream I had two days a goat Udderlicious. The ice cream has a mousse texture and not a creamy melting one like cheap ice cream we eat around the world. Dark chocolate ice cream with chocolate cone. The cheesecake is not creamy, taste cheese and comes with a side of berries compote. I loved desserts and enjoyed finishing my meal with them.
