After yesterday’s bad experience at Scarpetta, I really needed some good Italian spaghetti cooked aldente. Google maps led me to this homey trattoria serving a handful of pasta dishes, risotto, and pizza. Traditional and authentic, the restaurant is decorated with red table covers, black & white photos of Italian artists eating pizza, a bar and two crystal chandeliers. Don’t judge so quickly; despite the cold service and cheap decor, food is excellent.

The menu is printed on cheap paper and covered with cheap reflective nylon, the waitress and waiter are not too welcoming, to say the least, but the vibes are nice. I was excited to try the food.

Not the best service, the lights are too white and strong, not too welcoming but the food is so good; Delicious food! The pizzas are really good, the one with roast beef and spicy sauce or the other with potato; both excellent — a toasted crunchy crust covered with juicy ingredients. I’m in love with potato slices on a pizza and the other with eggplant and roast beef slices drew a smile on my face. I was so excited to try the pasta plates.

Pasta the way Italians do it. Homey pasta cooked aldente with red sauce: Tomato spaghetti, Bolognese spaghetti, lasagna, and seafood risotto. Acidic, non-oily and non-fatty, the sauces are fresh. The Bolognese uses a premium quality of minced meat. The lasagna reminded me of my grandma, and the risotto is as good as it should be, generous and flavorful.

Simple food, simple creations; a homey Italian restaurant I would recommend to my friends visiting Copenhagen. Food oozes the love and passion of an Italian mamma.
