What can I say more about Tawlet? I can eat there every single day and still want more.

Tawlet, my favorite place for authentic and healthy Lebanese cuisine is becoming my spot to visit once a week whenever possible. Every time is different, every time is a new experience, a new taste and a new journey into the real treasures of the Lebanese local cuisine.

You cannot imagine how famous Tawlet is. It's a crucial passage for all tourists seeking perfection and wanting to learn all about Lebanon. At Tawlet you learn what Lebanon is about: Local wines, local cuisines, villages of Lebanon, culinary classes, maps and much more since Tawlet is like a beehive where all tourists and local cultures meet.

On that day, I wanted to dig deeper. Meet the persons behind Tawlet. I had the chance to have a long discussion with Kamal Mouzawak, the founder of Souk EL Tayyeb and Tawlet who told me lots of stories about his aims, creations and future projects like the Kitchen design concept.

After that I continued by meeting the in-house cook Chef Charbel Fares who makes sure to serve the best every single day of the week assisted by a woman from one of the villages of Lebanon. Today Mrs. Siham Ghanem from the Al Warhaniye EL Chouf village near Nabee EL Safa was here to impress us.

Tawlet is the table. The table where all the food is served like a buffet style and where everyone digs in choosing the dishes they want to try as many times as you want. There is a positive energy that irradiates from this place making you want to stay forever, get your computer and papers and work there.

On the menu today: A green salad, Thym and onions green salad, Batenjen (Baba Ghannouj), Hummus, Makanek with Aakoub, Oven grilled Chicken and Potatoes, Koussa, Rice and Vegetables all served next to a large dish of fresh Lebanese vegetables.
Everything is just perfect: cooked traditionally with no commercial add-on. As much as you try reproducing those at home, it never tastes that good.

Drinks are the local Arak and Rose water 'a gogo' followed by a local dessert.

Again I say it, you cannot be Lebanese and not try Tawlet minimum once.
