After enjoying a unique experience at Ergon, I went online searching for a similar experience and found Yoleni’s. Yoleni’s is a supermarket, training center, tasting academy and restaurant. Serving local and international specialties, Yoleni’s welcomes you for coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. After taking a tour around the premises, I settled on the first floor for dinner.
Even though the place is a bit complicated to walk around without understanding the concept, I loved the vibes and decor. The wine cellar on the lower level, market and coffee shop on the ground floor, restaurant on the first floor and olive tasting on the second level.
Food is exquisite! Excellent food I didn’t have the chance to taste anywhere else this week in Athens. Gourmet food served casually. Upscale flavors, elegant creations, equilibrated and balanced aromas, and ingredients... tomato salad with crumbles of cheese, fresh greens and crunchy toast bathing in olive oil. Thin bread crunchy pita filled with spinach and zest of orange. It’s phenomenal! The filling is so juicy and perfectly cooked, it reminded me of Armenian Zingalov Hatz.
That’s a burger! I had three burgers this week, and this one wins by far... the best in terms of juiciness, taste, thickness, quality of meat, and quality of bread. It’s really outstanding, juicy without being fatty, with a spread of cheese and caramelized onions. Eat the meat alone, and you’ll understand. There’s also a spread of tomato marmalade elevating the burger taste to another level.
Spaghetti Bottarga is different than the one I usually have, but I liked it: the sauce, bitterness, lemony flavors. I would have cooked the spaghetti less.
Bravo! It’s sad not to have a full house tonight and every night. Yoleni’s food is exquisite.
