Tucked away in Badaro, on a street where you would not imagine that a lovely small French restaurant is located... Cafe Margot is located. A small french provincial type eatery that seats 25 people.
From Sami el Solh avenue, comes this quaint café that serves freshly baked croissants and signature sandwiches, salads and pastries. the café also offers a wide array of teas while presenting the fragrant scents and designs familiar to an authentic French café. I met the co-owner, Fady Rizk, a very nice restaurateur with a lot to say. We ended up talking and realizing that our families know each other. A small world indeed. Café Margot is a fresh face to classic French edibles. Café Margot is completely furnished with Provincial wooden elements which directly disconnect you from the outside world and transport you to the warm and cozy atmosphere of French cafes. Once inside, the smell of freshly baked croissants make somewhat of a design statement themselves, as they offer just as much to the atmosphere as a painting on the wall. however, these design tactics give your taste buds something to look forward to.
We had the chance to try a variety of things... The Labneh and the cheese sandwiches which come in a fresh and warm crunchy baguette baked couple of hours before, the green salad, a chocolate tarte ending the feast with a green tea from a local provider called AWAN: (Awan, a unique Arabic word for ‘the right moment’, is a genuine brand created by tea-lovers for tea-lovers. Infused with a zest of Lebanese culture, it offers an indulgence in the world of quality tea and brings together passion and pleasure in every moment). Their Bread is exquisite: A delicious taste, a perfect crust and an amazing color all can be found in their rich and generous sandwiches. Whether you just want a baguette, or to simply marvel at the décor and pretend you’re about to stroll down Champs Elysee, Café Margot offers that romantic simplicity best known for distinguishing French provinces.
