Sitting by the windows on a calm Monday morning, enjoying the weather outside, soothing music and positive vibes of The Phoenix restaurant, I let myself go to the vibes of this beautiful hotel. After spending three nights at The Phoenicia, enjoyed its breakfast two times already and experienced its lunch and dinner, I was ready to share with you the memorable experience.
Located just a stone’s throw from Valletta’s most coveted attractions, The Phoenicia Malta is a Campbell Gray Hotel, a proud member of The Leading Hotels of the World and the first and only Maltese hotel to be included in the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts Programme. As one of the best luxury hotels in Malta, the property boasts 136 luxury bedrooms and suites in a prestigious location, allowing guests to explore both city and harbor.
Let’s stay by the breakfast experience; I’ve already written a detailed review about it, and here I come again. The setup, the food quality, the bread, choices of offerings, eggs... I loved it! I usually get transported by the breakfast setup then comes the food; The Phoenix restaurant combines both.
Back to the first day; we were welcomed at the door, helped with our luggage and shown to the reception. White and blue are the colors, two of them only with touches of gold and some subtle flashy colors. Walk to the lobby, a vast space filled with saloons under a white dome. Have a drink, read the newspapers, enjoy the moment before going up to the room.
On the fourth floor is where my room was located; two single beds, a working desk, a side chair, and a wide bathroom. The room, a balcony with a view on the fountain is where I spent much of my time every night after my busy days of discoveries.
I’ve been enjoying so much the food at The Phoenicia that I booked myself for lunch! Exceptional Eggs Benedict, burrata salad, pizza margarita, Maltese club sandwich... so why not discover the real deal! Served at the hotel’s main restaurant, Saturday brunch opens at noon.
An enjoyable stay I will repeat as soon as I can; The Phoenicia is the best location you can book when visiting Malta. The hotel is located in the very heart of the capital, st the terminal station of buses, in front of the taxi station and offers a view on the capital.
